The Group Latch Hook
Well, this story starts back when Addi turned 9 or 10 years old. We gave her a cute latch hook project. Do any of you remember latch hook, where you have a square piece of carpet backing printed with a color image and then you weave on different colors of yarn to match the image. It takes a while but that's the point, to teach you to have patient and to follow thru on a project. Well, the Heap's obviously lack patience in projects because Addi worked on the latch hook and did a few rows, lost interest and put in her closet.
Enter the next person to the group of Latch hook, Brynn. Addi's favorite trick when she wants to clean her room and get rid of stuff is to give all her old stuff to Brynn and Leia and convince them they want it and to take it to their room! So a few years later, Brynn inherited the rainbow latch hook project. Brynn thought it was really cool for about 3 rows or so and then put it in her closet to forget about it.
Next comes Leia in to the group project. Mom and Brynn are busy working on their own crochet projects and she wants something to do and comes across the infamous rainbow latch hook. She was probably the most enthusatic about the craft and took it with her everywhere, even a soccer field where she dropped it and picked it up and brought home a bale of grass with it!! After that, it wasn't so fun sorting thru the grass picking out the yarn and into the corner it went.
Last, but not least, is the who we like to call "the Finisher"! Dad to the rescue! Caleb was tired of picking up scattered pieces of yarn from around the house and had Leia bring him the project and all it's pieces and sat down at the table to pick out the grass and separate the different colors of yarn. The next day was General Conference and Caleb found his hands empty with a whole day ahead of him. So, Caleb sat down and said he wasn't doing anything until he finished the rainbow latch hook. Well, Caleb can now say he has achieved one of his life's goal in completing a latch hook. Take a look at our litte homemakers!!
